my.cnfの設定で困っています。

Question

MySQLにリモートアクセスしたく、my.cnfを設定すると、なぜかMySQL serverが再起動しなくなるという問題が発生して大変困っています。皆様にどこの箇所が問題かを指摘していただけると大変助かります。

現状を少し書きます。
環境は、
MySQL version: 5.7.20
OS: Ubuntu 16.04
を使っています。

新たにMySQL serverを立ち上げ、下記のようにuser accountを作成しました。

mysql -u root -p
create user user_test1@"%" identified by "user_test1";

また、このユーザーにすべての権限を与えたいので、以下のようにしました。

grant all on *.* to user_test1@"%" identified by "user_test1";

この状態で、いくつかdatabase.tableを作成しました。
仮に以下のようにしておきます。

create database TEST;
use TEST;
create table trgt_table (n int);

このtrgt_tableに外部からリモートでアクセスしたいと考えています。

そのため、my.cnf(/etc/mysql/my.cnf)を改編することにしました。
defaultでは、コメントアウトされている部分以外では、以下の2行がありました。

!includedir /etc/mysql/conf.d/
!includedir /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/

この下に、以下の2行を加えました。

[mysqld]
bind-address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxxの部分は実際のIPaddressにしてあります。)

この状態で、

service mysql restart

で、mysqlが再度立ち上がってこないことがわかりました。(shutdownはしているようです。)
ただし、[bind-address]の部分をmy.cnfに記入しませんと、外部からのアクセスが可能にならないのではと思っています。

もし、この問題を解決し、外部からアクセス可能になるような方法をお知りでしたら、ご教授お願いします。よろしくお願いいたします。

追記:
上記の「bind-address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx」を加えた状態で、

/etc/init.d/mysql restart

したときのエラーログ（/var/log/mysql/error.log）を追記させていただきます。

また、「Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306 ?」とエラーにあります。しかし、restartの時に完全にmysqlがとまっていることは[ps aux]で確かめております。

質問の内容を見る限り、このページの1.の内容はクリアしていると思います。
2.の内容がbind-addressになりますが、まずはコメントアウトして、どのIPからの接続も許可するようにして動作確認するのが良いと思います。
3.のポートの確認は、mysqlを起動していない状態で以下のコマンドを実行して、port 3306が使用されていないことと、mysqlを起動した状態で実行して、port 3306でLISTENしていることを見れば、ポートの問題が確認できます。

$ netstat -tlpn | grep 3306

ご回答ありがとうございます。可能でしたら、解決法は外部サイトをリンクするだけではなく、その重要な部分だけでも回答文の中に含めて頂けば幸いです。これは、スタック・オーバーフローが長期的に利用できるQ&Aデータベースであるためにはリンク切れの可能性も考えなければいけないからです。

ありがとうございます。port番号も確認し、セキュリティーも確認しました。さらに調べましたら、原因は別の部分にありました。原因は、現在勤めている場所のセキュリティーでした。外部から内部にあるserverに一切アクセス許可が出ていないようです。(pingで外部からアクセスを試みたところ、不通だったことより、わかりました。)。まさかそんなところが落とし穴とは思ってもいませんでした。皆様の貴重な時間を使わせてしまい、大変申し訳ありませんでした。また、皆様のご協力に感謝いたします。本当に、ありがとうございました。

エラーログに起動しない原因が吐かれていると思うのでまずはそれを確認するのが良いと思います。Ubuntu の場合は /var/log/mysql/error.log に出力されるようになってると思います。

なお、bind-address は設定しなければ、通常はそのサーバーが持ってるすべてのIPアドレスから受け付けます。ですが Ubuntu では /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf で

bind-address = 127.0.0.1

が設定されているので、外部からは接続できなくなってます。
もしうまくいかない場合は、この行をコメントアウトしてみるのも良いと思います。

ありがとうございます。まず、エラーログの情報を追記させていただきました。また、/etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnfの該当箇所をコメントアウトしたところ、MySQL serverは起動するようになりましたが、依然として外部からのアクセスが不通です。ちなみにアクセスは、「mysql -u IP_address -u test_user1 -p」で試しております。
